Job Description

Digital Subscription Analyst

My client is a leading Digital Entertainment service providing movies, music and games to connected devices.

They are looking for a Digital Subscriptions Analyst to provide commercial insight and business modeling across their subscription services.

This person will act as a business partner to help develop insight and formulate strategy for growing both Games and Music subscriber base.

The person will need to be able to translate business requirements into models that can be developed by the BI team and evolve the reporting capabilities. This will be achieved by working closely with the BI team in order to leverage the analytical/reporting tools available.

Key Duties and Tasks
Planning/Reporting function

Report on monthly subscriber performance, providing commentary on acquisition, retention and churn
Develop set of reports/dashboards to help monitor performance/trends
Develop business model that tracks and reforecasts the active subscriber base over the fiscal year
Assist BI team to develop a robust subscription model in Microstrategy to facilitate reporting

Insight & Analysis

Evaluate the worth of subscribers vs non-subscribers in terms of ARPPU, total spend and engagement
Actively look to develop insight into consumer behaviour and share learnings with the wider business units
Provide analytical, data mining and discovery capabilities across Music & Games subscription business.
Customer life time value segmentation analysis - an ongoing overview of subscribers by channel, acquisition period including their spend behaviour outside of subscriptions.
Analysis on overall customer trends - renewals vs new acquisitions. Understand consumer behaviour into why people renewed, lapsed or came back

Commercial Support

Analyse the effectiveness of marketing campaigns in terms of conversion vs marketing investment

Utilisation of analytics to help target potential subscribers via CRM activity
Make recommendations on promotional mechanics used to acquire and retain customers
Understand the triggers as to why consumers may churn thus increasing retention rates
Content performance in partnership with content programmer a regular review of title uptake before and after inclusion, associated DLC performance, performance by genre, seasonality, RRP, quality etc

Candidate Requirements

Experience Required:

Strong experience in a commercially focused analytical role
Proven experience in business intelligence supporting an e-commerce, B2C, B2B, or major information provider
Working with reporting platforms tools, with a strong understanding of data warehousing principles and data modeling.
Commercial experience using Microstrategy or an equivalent BI reporting package
Experience gained at a company in one of the following sectors:- Retail, Online services & E-commerce, Entertainment business
