Job Description

Define the Omni channel strategy for your category in line with Commercial and Customer priorities.

Execute Merchandising strategy for your category with the support of Digital Merchandiser resource

Responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue and margin targets for your category

Create Merchandising plans for your category that will achieve and exceed targets for your part of the wider Omni channel Merchandising strategy

Plan and prioritise activity according to the B&Q/ brand commercial calendar

Execute tactical adjustments to your plan to maximise opportunities

Formulation of SKU level sales and margin commitment and inventory plans by month and by region and selling channel

Ensure that product, content and promotions are well represented in all digital interfaces (including contact centre and popular customer devices)

Identify new business opportunities and effective exit strategies for products/ranges in digital channels

Provide insight for range extension opportunities where you see gaps in our proposition

Provide management information and strategic proposals for investment to drive growth and maximise profitability of ranges

Partner with sourcing to leverage supply chain opportunities for efficiencies to optimise performance of a range and maximise profit

Candidate Requirements


Confident with forecasting & managing budgets

Solid experience of using E-commerce merchandising tools (Oracle/ ATG e-commerce suite, Sitebuilder a distinct advantage)

Knowledge of tools and techniques for optimising search capability (i.e. able to create synonyms, exception rules, redirects, reprioritisations etc.)

Numerate & confident in working with large volumes of data and with complex calculations

Working ability in writing HTML

Experienced in a data driven approach to Merchandising, with a practical knowledge of available customer analytics tools and using them to improve performance

Experience as a digital Merchandiser in a fast moving retail brand

Demonstrable track record of working to and exceeding targets

Experienced in defining meaningful metrics for both hard and soft measures (i.e. revenue vs. NPS)

Previous experience of managing internal search advantageous
