Job Description

B&Q is investing heavily in its omni-channel and eCommerce offering. This role is a great opportunity to help shape the future of performance marketing at B&Q and to nurture and develop a talented team.

Role Objectives
To craft and deliver the strategy for performance marketing activity at B&Q; leading and motivating a team of specialists across paid search, affiliates, re-targeting and display activity.

• Be responsible for defining and implementing the performance media strategy and securing full stakeholder buy-in to these plans
• Deliver a data-driven, quantitative approach to performance media activity through our in-house team and chosen third party agencies
• Drive 12-18month strategies that help improve our channel mix and present compelling business cases for increased investment
• Communicate strategy and roadmaps at executive level so that the business increases its understanding of the Performance Media environment
• Drive a constant programme of education at B&Q with broader stakeholders about the various channels under your control

Candidate Requirements

Essential skills:
• Exceptional understanding of the performance media ecosystem including search, affiliates, re-targeting and price comparison activity
• Extensive experience of developing and leading performance media strategies in a customer focussed, transactional e-commerce business environment.
• Proven track of record of team leadership, negotiation and influencing senior managers
• Good attention to detail and willing to delve into any aspect of your media channels if required

Knowledge and experience:
• Demonstrable senior strategic leadership in performance marketing for a large multi-channel business
• Able to demonstrate strong influencing, persuasion and negotiating skills at a senior level
• Strong mathematical mind with an inquisitive approach to data to constantly monitor, measure and optimise elements of the account
• Detailed knowledge of media terminology and landscape
